On November 8, 2005, Ted Green was elected to the City Council. He is a former member of the East Orange Housing Authority and from 1990 until 1997 was the City’s Assistant Compliance Officer. He is a former Assistant Director of the City of Irvington Townships’ Housing Division.
Councilman Green earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Cheyney University. He has been active in East Orange political and civic affairs for over fifteen years. He is a member of the Third Ward Democratic Municipal County Committee and has been active in his Wards’ block associations. In 1990 he founded the Green’s School of Martial Arts and is an instructor for the East Orange School District’s Black Male Institute and the Rites of Passage Youth Program. In 2003 he established a free lawn care and snow removal program for Third Ward senior citizens.
