On November 8, 2005 Alicia Holman was elected to City Council representing the 5th Ward.  She has been active in political and civic affairs for over fifteen years.  She is currently the Chairwoman of East Orange's Fifth Ward Municipal County Committee.

Councilwoman Holman attended Bloomfield College and Rutgers University.  She is currently employed as Youth Program Specialist with the Essex County Department of Citizen Services.  Previously she was a Manager and Claims Adjuster in a family-owned insurance company for several years and a Corporate Manager for an import-export packaging company.  She also served as a Project Coordinator with the Newark Economic Development Corporation/Riverfront Corporation.

Councilwoman Holman is a volunteer for the "Toys for Tots" Program, the "Make A Wish Foundation" and the Bethel Presbyterian Church Community Outreach Meal  Program.
