THE CITY OF EAST ORANGE Mayor Robert L. Bowser & The East Orange City Council present The 58th Annual MEMORIAL DAY PARADE The City of East Orange will host its 58TH Annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 26, 2008, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The City of East Orange and the East Orange Community Celebration Committee invites your organization to participate in this year’s program. The Memorial Day Parade is a traditional event that is held annually by the City of East Orange, in honor of our veterans who have served in the Armed Forces. This year’s parade theme is “Changing Times” as we attempt to put a modern day twist on the parade. One change we are requesting is that all participating organizations add a military theme (Patriotic colors, camouflage and /or military dress etc...) to their marching unit. Please remember that no political entries will be permitted in the parade! Kindly complete the registration form and return it to the Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs. Additional information regarding specifics on the parade will be forwarded to participants upon receipt of acknowledgement. Here is another change for this year. Participating Veterans and dignitaries will be permitted to participate in a continental breakfast before the parade, and the Memorial Day Service will also take place prior to the start of the parade. To reserve a place on this years float and join your fellow comrades as we celebrate the commitment you made on behalf of our country, veterans, please complete and submit the registration form. Deadline to register for the Parade is April 25, 2008 Memorial Day Parade Registration Form For more information, call the Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs at: (973) 414-4141 |
