On Saturday, June 14th, 2008 from 10:00am to 5:00pm the Youth 2000 Initiative Program and the Mayor’s Youth Council will host the Fourth Annual City-Wide Youth Arts Festival in Elmwood Park, East Orange, New Jersey The Festival will be a multicultural event celebrating the breadth of the arts in the community and showcasing East Orange’s young people in a positive atmosphere. It is designed as a free event to reach audiences who might not have the means to attend high price ticketed events presented by the major institutions. One of the goals of the festival is to celebrate the creative talents of the youth of East Orange. The theme of the Youth Arts Festival is “Moja”, Swahili word meaning “one”. One Family, One Community, Many Voices…Rediscover the Village…East Orange. “Moja”, an appropriate theme for the festival, will promote the celebration of harmony and diversity among all people in our community. We are seeking local food vendors that have experience in preparing distinct foods representative of a diversity of cultures. We wish to provide festival goers with high quality food at a reasonable price.
