EAST ORANGE…The Concerned Citizens to Rebuild East Orange (CCREO) once again partnered with Mayor Robert L. Bowser and the East Orange City Council to provide toys to resident children.

 

SANTA made a special visit to East Orange City Hall Tuesday, December 22nd, and joined Concerned Citizens and Christmas volunteers to distribute more than 600 toys to East Orange children and families. The event, held every year in City Council Chambers at City Hall collected approximately 900 toys, and received donations from CCREO members, local businesses, municipal staff, East Orange Police and Fire Departments, East Orange Municipal Court, East Orange Public Library. East Orange General Hospital, the East Orange YMCA, Fairmont Country Club in Chatham, and the Essex County Democratic Committee among other area philanthropic organizations.

 

Children obtained toys after receiving vouchers at Mayor Bowser’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony held two weeks prior on Tuesday, December 8th. Remaining toys were donated to children and families unable to attend the Mayor’s Annual Toy Giveaway and to local community charities.
