SWINE FLU INFORMATION

Swine Flu is a highly contagious viral infection that presents with respiratory symptoms (cough and congestion along with fever and body aches).

The incubation period (time from exposure to symptoms) is 24 to 48 hours.  

To-date, there have been NO Reported Cases of Swine Flu reported in East Orange, New Jersey.

 AVOIDING THE FLU

 ¨   Hand washing and avoiding crowds are the best ways to avoid swine flu.

 ¨  A healthy immune system and early medical intervention with antiviral medication (if flu symptoms are noted) are the best ways to treat any flu infections.

 ¨      Eating fresh citrus fruit and green leafy vegetables are keys to a sound diet and a healthy immune system to fight off infections.

 ¨   At the first sign of flu you should stay home.
