**Senator Lautenberg will Speak at the City of East Orange’s Kick-Off for Summer Jobs**

The Division of Employment and Training, the Youth 2000 Initiative Program and Colgate-Palmolive to make a joint announcement at a Press event on June 26, 2009.

Who: Mayor Robert L. Bowser and the Division of Employment and Training, Youth 2000 Initiative Program.

What: Mayor Bowser is hosting a Press Conference to kick-off, “Let’s Put Our Youth To Work”, as part of the Colgate-Palmolive’s 2009 Colgate P.O.W.E.R. (Preparing Our World Through Education and Responsibility) Initiative.

When: The press Conference is scheduled for June 26, 2009, at 10:00 A.M. Where: The ShopRite Supermarket in the Brick Church Plaza, 533 Main Street, East Orange, New Jersey. In the event of inclement weather, the location will be: The East Orange Campus “9” School, 129 Renshaw Avenue (Auditorium), East Orange, New Jersey.

Colgate-Palmolive’s P.O.W.E.R. Initiative partners annually with local governments and Mayors’ Offices to support youth development and career placement programs nationwide. Since 1990, Colgate Palmolive Company has awarded grants to select Cities to benefit Summer Youth Employment Program. To-date, Colgate-Palmolive along side local retailers has awarded over $2.5 million in grants and approximately 350,000 youth participants have received valuable job training and work experience as a result.
