City of East Orange Hosts 3rd Annual Trinidad & Tobago Flag Raising

Area Trinidad and Tobago nationals gathered in City Hall Plaza on Monday, August 31st to celebrate the 47th Anniversary of their country’s independence. This marks the third year Trinidad and Tobago has raised their flag in East Orange.

The New Jersey Carnival Committee, led by Gail Bell-Bonnette and Fabian (Flexxy) Alexis, ccollaborated with East Orange to have vendors and music commemorating the event. Greetings from the Counsel General in New York and Assemblywoman Sheila Oliver’s office were presented, as members of City Council and East Orange Municipal Court Judge Sybil Elias offered additional remarks.
